Roma!

Took this from the Accademia Bridge on my way to the grocery store today. There are always people taking pictures there! …so I didn’t feel too bad adding to the traffic jam to take a few myself. :)

So I’m just going to keep posting Burano pictures because I still cannot get over how awesome this place is.

If I ever get depressed while I’m in Venice I am literally just going to hop on a boat and go to this island.

All their houses look like this.. and real people live here. Seriously.

The only downside I can see is that sometimes tourists come by and take a shit ton of pictures of their front doors or something (heh..), but c’mon.

Today I discovered my favorite place in the world: the island of Burano. It’s a small, quaint (and magical!) island off of the main part of Venice, where all the houses are painted in a slew of bright, beautiful colors and people’s cats and dogs just roam everywhere unleashed.

Walking around, it felt like we had somehow stumbled into a Dr. Seuss book. Awesome day. The only shitty thing was that I had my ISO set at 1600 (like an idiot ughhh) when I was shooting all my pictures. I thought I had set it to 400 earlier in the day.. As a result, most of the photos are pretty grainy when viewed at full size :((((

Oh well. At least that gives me an excuse to go back.

I’ve been starting to play around more with post-production effects again. For awhile I was kind of against editing my pictures on the computer for some reason, but now I’m realizing that almost all photos could use a bit of cross-processing and then there are also all of the really fun things you can do post-production. I still think it’s pretty cool though when every now-and-then you get that awesome, perfect picture straight from the camera.

sun, sky, and silhouettes … <3

PS. can you find the bird in both pictures?
